SHED/GARAGE BURGLARY IN YOUR AREA

   Dear Resident,

Between 02:00am and 03:00am on Thursday 27th August a shed was broken into on Severus Ave and a petrol Mcculloch leaf blower was stolen. 

Please see the below advice for shed security :

· Fit good quality closed-shackle padlocks and sturdy hasps. 

· Use coach bolts or security screws on hinges and doors. 

· Keep sheds locked at all times, even when at home. 

· Mark and register valuable property such as bikes, power tools and gardening equipment. 

· Consider property marking products and photograph valuable items. 

· Install security lighting and, where appropriate, CCTV or a video doorbell covering access points. 

· Ensure fences, gates and side access routes are secure. 

· Keep ladders and tools locked away so they cannot be used to gain entry elsewhere. 

· Trim hedges and vegetation to improve natural surveillance. 

· Consider shed alarms for additional security.
